British athletes would rather party than relax after the Olympic Games with Las Vegas their top destination for holidays this September.
According to British Airways’ poll of Team GB and ParalympicsGB, 28% want to head to the USA, while 13% plan to head to Spain with Ibiza on the top of their list.
Australia, Greece and Thailand were joint third in the list while others said they were heading to Lithuania, Cuba and Scotland.
The survey results as the carrier launched new fare deals to the USA and Caribbean. In fitting with its Home Advantage campaign, the airline said it had seen late bookings.
“We’ve seen a slight increase in late summer bookings this year, due to many holidaymakers staying at home to support our athletes during the London 2012 Games. The good news is that there are still lots of late bargains to be had,” said Richard Tams, head of sales and marketing UK & Ireland at BA.
