Two new Accor hotels will be developed at Brisbane Airport, as part of a AU$150 million (US$140m) project.

The European hotelier will operate new Pullman and ibis properties at the airport’s domestic terminal, offering a combined total of more than 370 rooms and suites.

“With passenger numbers through the international and domestic terminals in Brisbane expected grow to 38m per year in the next 20 years, Accor is excited to be involved from the ground level in this forward thinking project which will strengthen the local tourism economy,” said Simon McGrath, chief operating officer for Accor Pacific.

“Pullman and ibis will add to the existing Novotel and ibis Budget airport hotels at Brisbane Airport and expand our product offering, to cover the full spectrum of the hotel market from economy to upscale, proving more accommodation options and greater choice for domestic and international travellers.”

Pullman Brisbane Airport hotel will feature 130 rooms and suites, plus a swimming pool, restaurant, bar, executive lounge, business centre and gym. There will also be a poolside dining and entertainment area offering views of approaching aircraft.

The ibis Brisbane Airport meanwhile, will offer 243 rooms, restaurant and bar with indoor and outdoor seating, a café and rooftop bar.

Construction on both hotels is set to commence on 1 February 2015, with opening scheduled for 1 November 2016.
