Hilton has confirmed the launch of room selection technology at its hotels in Southeast Asia.

Following the roll-out of the solution in Australasia and India on 23 March 2015, the technology has now been made available at hotels in Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and some properties in Thailand.

This will be followed by a continued roll-out in the next few months to the rest of Southeast Asia and subsequently China and Japan.

At present, the service is only available to members of the hotel company’s HHonors loyalty programme.

“Digital check-in and room selection rewards our HHonors members for their loyalty and puts our guests in the driving seat by giving them unprecedented choice and control across their entire stay,” said Geraldine Calpin, global head of digital at Hilton.

“Never before have guests been able to check-in, select their rooms from a digital floor plan, and customise their rooms to be ready for arrival. We are truly revolutionising the industry, and this is just the tip of the iceberg for digital at Hilton Worldwide.”

Through their Hilton HHonors accounts, guests will be able to check-in and choose their exact room from digital floor plans or lists, on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. They will also be able to request upgrades or make special requests for items to be delivered to their rooms.

Currently the solution is available in English, with Japanese and Chinese language versions expected to be rolled out later in 2015.
