Hilton is to open a sixth hotel in Cairo after signing a contract with Saudi Egyptian Real Estate Development.
The 257-room Hilton Cairo Nile Maadi is due to open in early 2016 in the diplomatic area of the city with access to the Corniche El Nile.
“Our Egyptian expansion strategy and determined pipeline growth reflects our unwavering faith in the viability of Egypt, its people, business and community,” said Rudi Jagersbacher, president MEA at Hilton Worldwide.
The hotel chain has several other Egyptian hotels in the pipeline that will see it have nearly 2,300 rooms in Egypt. The entries will be a welcome boost to the country, as tourism has suffered since the Arab Spring.
