China Airlines has started flying its brand new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft to New York.
Effective this month, the new long-haul aircraft will operate three weekly flights between Taipei’s Taoyuan International Airport and New York JFK Airport, every Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
Passengers will be offered the choice of three cabins, with 40 flat-bed seats in business class, 62 seats in premium economy and 256 in economy. The aircraft also features CAL’s new ‘Family Couch’ product, which converts a row of three economy class seats into a flat bed.
And from September 2015, CAL will increase the frequency of its Taipei-New York route with the addition of a fourth weekly service, departing Taoyuan every Friday.
CAL welcomed its first new B777-300ER in September 2014 and has now taken delivery of four out of an order for 10 of the aircraft. These aircraft will gradually replace its older B747-400s, initially on trans-Pacific routes.
