Is Dubai still considered a long-haul destination? Recently launched travel website FlyDubai.co.uk has compiled data that suggests this is no longer the case.
The operator, which specialises in Dubai as a destination, claims average flights are cheaper than New York and offers strong value compared to popular European weekend destinations.
Key findings included:
* An average flight to Dubai is £412 compared to £485 to New York
* An average taxi cheaper at £4 than in some European destinations such as Amsterdam and Venice
* A 3-course meal in a mid-range restaurant comes in at approximately £29 in Dubai as opposed to £39 in Paris and £57 in Copenhagen.
Commenting on the results, Brian Kelly, Chief Executive of ORTG, which operates the website, said: “Dubai has always been such a special place, but our study has revealed that it now offers affordable luxury.”
