Hilton has opened another hotel in southern China’s Hainan province.

The new Hilton Haikou Meilan becomes the upscale brand’s first property in Haikou, Hainan’s provincial capital, and is located in a beachfront setting in the Meilan district of the city.

“Haikou is enjoying rapid economic development, and as a tropical locale, the city is also establishing itself as one of China’s top tourist destinations,” said Rob Palleschi, Hilton’s global head of full service brands.

“In this key destination, the new Hilton Haikou Meilan will serve leisure and business travellers with the signature Hilton experiences for which the brand is known globally.”

The property offers 453 rooms and suites, ranging from 38 to 506m² and all featuring 42-inch LCD TVs and MP3 connectivity. Hotel facilities include six F&B outlets, three outdoor swimming pools, a fitness centre, spa and entertainment for kids.
Hilton Haikou Meilan also features extensive conference and banqueting space, with 32 function rooms including a 1,600m² ballroom and 1,160m² pre-function area.

Hilton Haikou Meilan becomes the sixth Hilton Worldwide property in Hainan province, joining the DoubleTree by Hilton Haikou Meilan, DoubleTree by Hilton Hainan Qixianling Hot Spring, DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Sanya Haitang Bay, Hilton Sanya Yalong Bay Resort & Spa, and the Conrad Sanya.
