Hilton has signed an agreement to manage a new property in Okinawa.
Scheduled to open in 2016, the Hilton Okinawa Kin will be set on beachfront site in the town of Kin, on the east coast of Okinawa’s main island, overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
“Our story in Japan began in 1963 with the opening of the Tokyo Hilton in Akasaka as one of the first truly global hotel brands to commence trading in the country. This remarkable journey continues to this day as we continue to expand into key destinations in Japan, and Hilton Okinawa Kin will continue our legacy in world-class hospitality alongside its sister properties located in key cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya [and] Fukuoka,” said Rob Palleschi, global head of Hilton Hotels & Resorts.
The 12-storey Hilton Okinawa Kin will feature 190 rooms plus two restaurants, a bar, business lounge, meeting rooms, a fitness club, spa and swimming pool. It will be located 48km from Naha International Airport.
Hilton currently operates 10 properties across Japan, and plans to open one more next year, also in Okinawa.
