Hilton to add nearly 1,000 new hotels

Hilton Worldwide has a development pipeline totalling almost 1,000 hotels and 170,000 rooms.
The company revealed today that it opened 171 with 28,000 rooms in 2012, and currently has 85,000 new hotel rooms under construction around the world. The Asia Pacific region will be a major catalyst for this growth, with Hilton planning to double its Asian portfolio in the coming years.
“In 2012 we achieved phenomenal success,” said Christopher J. Nassetta, Hilton’s President & CEO. “We continued to find even more ways of providing the very best service to our guests around the world and benefiting the communities where we operate, including delivering thousands of new jobs as a result of our unprecedented growth.”
Also in 2012, Hilton added 120 spas to its portfolio and launched three new F&B concepts.
