JAL, BA expand cooperation
Japan Airlines and British Airways have announced the expansion of their codeshare arrangement, plus the sale of joint fares.
At present, the airlines codeshare on a total of 23 routes, including BA’s flights from London to 23 European cities, and eight JAL flights from Tokyo Narita. In addition to this, the two carriers will begin to market each other’s services between Tokyo and London Heathrow. JAL and BA will place their flight indicators on each other’s daily services between Heathrow and Narita, as well as on BA’s five weekly flights to and from Tokyo Haneda.
In total, the two airlines will offer 19 weekly flights between Tokyo and London.
In conjunction with the start of the Tokyo-London codeshare flights, JAL and BA will also begin selling aligned fares applicable for both JAL- and BA-operated flights on these routes, originating from either city. With these fares, customers can also choose to use a combination of JAL and BA in a round-trip itinerary.
