Singapore Airlines (SIA) has partnered with Singapore’s National Library Board to increase its selection of in-flight audio books.

The initial batch of 13 audio books includes classics such as Dracula, The Wizard Of Oz and The War Of The Worlds, which will be made available through SIA’s KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system.

“While audio books have been a feature in our in-flight entertainment offering for some time, this new selection of titles recommended by the National Library Board has broadened our range of fiction books. We are constantly seeking to improve the entertainment experience for our customers and hope this will be just the start, with more audio books to be offered in future,” said Tan Pee Teck, SIA’s Senior Vice President of Products & Services.

“Audio books are the next best thing for busy travellers who do not have time for a good read. They can help bring a story to life using voices, tonations, accents, and sound effects that spark the listener’s imagination. The listener can also hear the words exactly as the author intended, enhancing the ‘reading’ experience,” added Tay Ai Cheng, Assistant Chief Executive and Chief Librarian at Singapore’s National Library Board.
