NYC kicks off European roadshow

NYC & Company, New York City’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organisation, has kicked off its largest ever pan-European MICE road show, taking in the cities of Manchester, London, Paris and Brussels.

New York is promoting itself as a MICE destination.

Members of the Convention Development team at NYC & Company are showcasing New York City’s offerings as a MICE destination to European buyers, highlighting the City’s world-class event venues, meeting spaces and incentive activities.

“New York City welcomed 6.1 million meeting and convention delegates in 2014, up from 5.9 million the previous year,” commented Jerry Cito, senior vice president of Convention Development at NYC & Company. “We are expecting to keep the same positive pace for 2015 and on track to welcome 6.3 million delegate visitors to the City’s five boroughs. The MICE sector is a vital contributor to New York City’s tourism economy and continuing the growth out of key European markets is a top priority for us.”

“Holding a meeting or event in New York City has the power to drive record attendance,” added Paul Black, Senior Director of European MICE at NYC & Company. “There are constantly new developments to showcase across all five boroughs and we’re delighted these European buyers are able to meet with representatives from New York City’s MICE sector first-hand to learn more about what the City can offer delegate visitors.”
