Dusseldorf has become the third German city in Singapore Airlines’ route network.

The new direct service between Singapore and Dusseldorf will initially be operated three times a week using SIA’s brand new fleet of Airbus A350 aircraft. Flights depart Singapore’s Changi Airport every Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 2340 and arrive at Dusseldorf Airport at 0620 the next morning, following a flight of almost 13 hours.

The return services then leave every Tuesday, Friday and Sunday at 1150, and arrive back in Singapore at 0615 the following day.

The new route will allow passengers to experience SIA’s new fleet of A350 aircraft (pictured top), the first of which was delivered in March 2016. SIA now operates four of these long-haul jets and has a further 63 on order.

The first batch of the new aircraft – the standard A350-900 models – come fitted with 253 seats in three classes, including 42 flat-bed seats in business class, 24 extra-legroom seats in premium economy and 187 seats in economy class.

The A350 will also allow SIA to resume direct flights to the US later this year, when it commences its new Singapore-San Francisco in October 2016.

Dusseldorf becomes the third German city in SIA’s network, following Frankfurt and Munich.
