Singapore Airlines has revealed that it will launch seasonal services to the Japanese city of Sapporo this winter.

In December 2014 and January 2015, SIA will operate 14 flights to the Hokkaido city, largely to cater for demand from Singaporeans travelling to Japan’s northern ski slopes and to experience winter attractions, including Sapporo’s annual ice festival.

Flights will operate from 1 December to 16 January, departing Singapore’s Changi Airport every Monday and Friday at 2330 and arriving at Sapporo’s New Chitose Airport at 0800 the following morning. The return flights will leave Sapporo every Tuesday and Saturday at 0930 and 0855 respectively.

SIA will serve the route using a twin-aisle Airbus A330-300 aircraft with 30 seats in business class and 255 in economy.

The new route will operate alongside SIA’s existing year-round flights to Tokyo Narita, Tokyo Haneda, Osaka and Fukuoka.
