Singapore Airlines (SIA) has widened its route map in Europe following the expansion of its joint venture with the Lufthansa Group.
Under the new arrangement, SIA passengers will be offered connections to 20 European cities via Frankfurt, Munich and Zurich.
Those travelling on SIA’s flights between Singapore and Frankfurt will be offered single-ticket travel to and from Aberdeen, Billund, Birmingham, Bologna, Bucharest, Dublin, Edinburgh, Florence, Gothenburg, Lisbon, Madrid, Porto, Tallinn and Venice, while passengers flying to Munich can connect to Madrid, Marseille, Nice and Toulouse, all with Lufthansa.
Finally passengers flying to Zurich can continue onwards to Belgrade, Florence, Lyon, Sofia and Venice with SWISS.
In turn, Lufthansa and SWISS passengers will be able to access new destinations via Singapore. These include Canberra, Dusseldorf and Wellington with SIA, and SilkAir services will also be introduced into the partnership in future.
The expanded codeshare operations follow the signing of a joint venture agreement between SIA and Lufthansa Group in November 2015. SIA, Lufthansa and SWISS are all members of the Star Alliance.
