Singapore Airlines will start to deploy its newest aircraft on one of its newest routes next month.
Effective 17 January 2017, the national carrier will operate its Airbus A350-900 aircraft on the Singapore-Manchester-Houston route, which first launched at the end of October.
This will mark the first time SIA has flown its A350 to the UK, and the aircraft’s second service to the US following Singapore-San Francisco.
“We are excited to operate the A350, the newest and most advanced aircraft in our fleet, to Singapore and Houston from Manchester,” said Sheldon Hee, SIA’s general manager for the UK & Ireland.
“Our new A350 services are a commitment to keep investing in delivering an ever better experience for our customers in the north [of England], and with our recent codeshare partnership with Flybe, we will be offering convenient access to Singapore Airlines from even more cities.”
SIA’s A350 can accommodate 253 passengers in three cabins, with 42 seats in business class, 24 in premium economy and 187 in economy.
Earlier this week, Cathay Pacific announced plans to operate an all-A350 service to Manchester from summer 2017.
