Air China will increase the frequency of its Beijing-Houston route to daily this summer.
The airline only launched the route eight months ago, but said that “strong demand from business and leisure travellers to China” had allowed it to add more flights. Therefore, from 30 March 2014, the number of flights will be raised from four to seven per week.
“The additional flights will provide more options and flexibility to international travellers, allowing them to have more convenient connections to cities within China and beyond via our Beijing hub,” said Dr Zhihang Chi, Air China’s vice president for North America.
Air China operates the Houston route using a Boeing 777-300ER with 311 seats – eight in first class, 42 in business class and 261 in economy.
Houston is one of four US destinations for Air China, along with Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York. But the airline will soon expand in the country with the launch of services to Honolulu and Washington DC.
