British Airways will enhance its Singapore services next year, with the addition of new aircraft and a move to the new Terminal 5 at London’s Heathrow airport.

From summer 2013, one of BA’s two daily London-Singapore services will be operated using the airline’s brand new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft fitted with four cabins, including 56 fully-flat beds in Club World business class and the new World Traveller Plus premium economy. BA’s other Singapore service will continue to be operated using a Boeing 747-400 aircraft, and both flights from Singapore will continue to leave in the evening and arrive in London in the early morning.

Passengers on the route will fly into Heathrow T5, which includes six BA lounges and more than 100 retail and dining options, including Gordon Ramsey’s ‘Plane Food’.

“The enhancements are great news for our passengers from Singapore,” said Jamie Cassidy, BA’s Area General Manager for Middle East & Asia Pacific. “Arriving and departing from T5 allows passengers to have even faster and smoother onward connections. Premium passengers headed to London will have access to our impressive Arrivals lounge at T5, where they can freshen up and even get their clothes pressed before heading into town later in the morning. They will also be able to relax and get work done at our award-winning Galleries and Concorde lounges in T5 when they are leaving London.”
