BA boosts Sydney, Singapore

British Airways will enhance its Sydney and Singapore services next year, with the addition of new aircraft and a move to the new Terminal 5 at London’s Heathrow airport.
From 31 March 2013 one of BA’s two daily services to Singapore onto Sydney will be operated by a new Boeing 777-300 ER fitted with four cabins, including 56 fully-flat beds in Club World business class and the new World Traveller Plus premium economy. Its in-flight entertainment will also be given a boost with 50% more movies and double the TV and music options.
BA’s other Singapore service will continue to be operated using a Boeing 747-400 aircraft, and both flights from Singapore will continue to leave in the evening and arrive in London in the early morning.
Passengers on the route will fly from Heathrow T5 to help passengers on the route connect to other BA destinations.
“This move confirms British Airways’ commitment to Australia,” said Jamie Cassidy, area general manager for Asia Pacific at BA. “It’s an important part of our network and we’re underlining that by putting our newest aircraft and cabins on the Sydney route and moving the flight to Terminal 5, to sit alongside the majority of our other services.”
