British Airways will launch its new lounge at Singapore’s Changi Airport this week.
The facility, which is located at Terminal 1, becomes the first in the world to feature the airline’s new Concorde Bar – a private area for first class passengers.
The Concorde Bar features oak floors and marble surfaces, plus screens displaying digital images of the Singapore skyline which reflect the time of the day outside. Eligible passengers will be provided with a pass-code to access the area.
The main lounge meanwhile, offers buffet counters, high-speed complimentary Wi-Fi, two desktop computers and a wireless printer, plus baggage storage facilities, televisions, bathrooms, baby change facilities and showers. It is decorated with artwork from Singaporean and British artists.
“Our new lounge is a toast to the heritage and glamour of flying. Its environment is perfectly designed for and tailored around the needs of the modern premium traveller. I am confident that our customers, whether they are travelling on business or going on holiday, will enjoy the privacy, state-of-the-art facilities, and incredible artwork on offer.” said Robert Williams, BA’s head of Asia Pacific sales.
The opening of the Singapore lounge is the latest stage in the airline’s SG$11 billion (US$7.8bn) investment to improve its passenger experience.
