The UK’s national carrier British Airways will monopolise the London City to Edinburgh route in October unless another airline steps in to take over the service, cancelled by Cityjet recently.
Cityjet, which admitted the route had been loss making, is currently operating the route four times a day Monday through to Friday. However British Airways has double the number of flights and on more fuel efficient aircraft.
The carrier’s chief executive Christine Ourmieres told The Scotsman that the Edinburgh-Paris and Dundee-London City service would continue.
