International Airlines Group (IAG) has firmed an order for 20 Airbus 320neo aircraft.

The firm order is part of an initial option for 100 Airbus 320neo announced in August, and are currently lined up to replace 21 short-haul aircraft for British Airways.

The group said the aircraft will be reallocated to Iberia or Vueling if its short-haul BA business is not profitable.

Deliveries will start in 2018 into 2019 and will offer a lower fuel burn and cut carbon emissions by 15%.

Last year the group ordered up to 120 Airbus A320 for Vueling with an option for 100 A320neo.
