British Airways will commit a Boeing 747-400 on its London-Nairobi flights in summer, adding 784 seats to its route capacity per week.
The additional capacity will be provided from 1 July to 29 October. Flights will revert to a B777 at the conclusion of this period.
The introduction of the Boeing jumbo will add 11,200 seats in total during the summer season.
Edward Frost, British Airways commercial manager for South and East Africa said: “We’ve always said that we would add capacity if the opportunity arose. It has and we’ve seized it. The additional capacity and the fact that we offer an overnight schedule should be good news for leisure and business travellers alike.
“Morning arrivals in London mean that you don’t waste any time on your holiday and business trip. The schedule also allows for convenient transfer times to onward flights particularly to North America.”
